Not your great-great-grandfather’s board at all, but a juiced up version of the proven twin Artifact shape with a stiffer flex and Carbon HotRods, the Rome Artifact Pro Snowboard aspires to higher highs and delivers. This is a poppy full camber board with Flax Impact Plates to help quell the sting of hard landings and a SinterStrong extruded base to ward off damage from rails, table tops and the like.

Stay Positive– Powerful and predictable, tried-and-true camber.

Flex Rating– 5 (1 Soft – 10 Stiff)

Shape

True Twin– Boards built with fully symmetrical specs; sidecuts, flex patterns, camber profiles and nose and tail lengths. True twin boards are great for riding switch.

Double Kick– Double Kick is an aggressive two-part rise in the boards nose or tail, built for increased pressability and better landings.

Core

Carbon HotRods– Thin rods of carbon are milled into the board’s core starting just inside the insert packs and extending into the nose and / or tail.

Twin Single– A single HotRod in the board’s nose and tail; pressable yet poppy.

Laminates

Flax Impact Plates– Built to lessen impact and dampen chatter, these woven flax plates are built under the board’s insert packs.

Base

SinterStrong Base– Hardworking, super fast sintered base that’s easy to fix.

Freestyle boards often feature a true twin shape, and are typically selected by those looking to ride the terrain park. A more versatile variant of a freestyle board is the all-mountain freestyle, which combines the versatility of an all mountain snowboard with the playfulness of a freestyle snowboard.

Ability Level: Advanced-Expert Advanced-ExpertWhether you charge the steepest lines, hit the biggest jumps in the park or carve with race-like precision, advanced to expert level skis, snowboards, boots and bindings are for the more aggressive rider. In skis and snowboards, you’ll often find layers of metal, carbon or other stringers for rigidity and power, while advanced to expert level boots and bindings are usually on the stiffer side of the spectrum for rebound and precision steering.

Rocker Type: Camber CamberCamber is the traditional profile for snowboards, and still popular among high-level park and pipe riders because it offers maximum energy and pop. A cambered board has a smooth arch underfoot and touches near the tip and tail when unweighted; when the rider’s weight is added, it provides a long, evenly pressured running surface and edge.

Flex Rating: Medium MediumThe amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers’ number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
